SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, PA—United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Pennsylvania State University-Schuylkill (14-5) third-year starting pitcher John Ruggiero (1-0) pitched a complete game, striking out six, and contributed a hit, walk, and two runs batted in as the pre-season eighth-ranked Nittany Lions shut out the Manor College Blue Jays (0-7), 10-0, in five innings, in game one of a road doubleheader at Blue Mountain High School.

Schuylkill scored twice in the first, three times in the second, four times in the fourth, and walked it off in the fifth with a second-year Connor Licklider none-out single, scoring first year shortstop Tyler Shuey.  

Manor had at least one baserunner reach base in every inning.

Batting Leaders: Senior catcher Cidrick Navas (Levittown, PA/Samuel Fels) singled and walked for the Blue Jays.

Licklider singled twice, walked, stole a base, scored a run, and contributed two RBI.  Second year right fielder Andrew Klotz doubled, walked, stole a base, scored two runs, and contributed three RBI.  Second year left fielder Roman Cieless singled, walked, scored twice, and stole two bases.  Fourth year first baseman Owen Shoop singled, scored a run, and stole two bases.  Shuey singled, walked, and stole two bases.  First year third baseman Blake Dieter singled, walked twice, and stole two bases for the Nittany Lions.

Pitching Leaders: Sophomore Alexander Rebitz (Cheltenham, PA/Cheltenham) (0-1) started, pitching the first 3 ⅓ innings and freshman Carlos Espinal (Philadelphia, PA/Community Academy of Philadelphia) for the Blue Jays.

Ruggiero allowed four singles and three walks for the Nittany Lions.
