MANOR COLLEGE BASEBALL ERUPTS FOR 21 RUNS IN GAME TWO OF A HOME DOUBLEHEADER AND SWEEPS PATRICK HENRY COLLEGE

CHELTENHAM, PA—United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Manor College (2-22) bat around twice and junior starting pitcher Charlie Levy (Jenkintown, PA/Jenkintown) (1-4) hits for the cycle and pitches as a complete game as the Blue Jays defeat the Patrick Henry College Sentinels (0-8), 21-4, in five innings, in game two of a home doubleheader at the Cheltenham Little League-Woodland Complex.

Patrick Henry opened the scoring in the top of the first inning. Junior left fielder Jackson Bell led off the game with a single to center field.  Junior shortstop Isaac Cullum singled to right and moved Bell to second.  Sophomore catcher Isaac Kasowski reached on a fielder's choice to second. However, Cullum was safe at second on a missed catch error.  Bell advanced to third on the fielder's choice and scored on the throw.  Senior center fielder Chris Ziemnick's two-out single to center, scored Cullum.

Manor sent 15 hitters to bat in the bottom of the second and scored nine runs.  Levy led off the inning with his third home run of the season over the center field fence.  Junior first baseman Eric Engesser (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West) was hit by a senior Ryan Slemmer pitch.  While freshman second baseman Brandy Torres (Philadelphia, PA/Excel Academy South) was batting Engesser advanced to second and third on a pair of Cullum wild pitches.  Brandy Torres' single to center scored Engesser.  Freshman third baseman Victor Veyan's (Fairfax, VA/C.G. Woodson) infield single to third advanced Brandy Torres to second.  Senior catcher Cidrick Navas' (Levittown, PA/Samuel Fels) infield single that deflected off the third baseman to the shortstop scored Brandy Torres and moved Veyan to second.  Freshman left fielder Shawn Suero (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln) was hit by another Cullum pitch which loaded the bases.  Sophomore center fielder Lucky Lindley's (Montclair, VA/Forest Park) fielder's choice ground out, third to catcher, reloaded the bases.  Junior right fielder Manny Roach's (Medford, NJ/Life Center Academy) one-out bases-loaded walk scored Cidrick Navas.  Freshman shortstop Emiliano Hernandez' (Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico/Cobaej) single to center scored Suero and reloaded the bases for a second time.  Levy's ground-rule double to center scored Lindley and Roach and moved Hernandez to third.  Engesser's single to left scored Hernandez and knocked Slemmer out of the game.  Brandy Torres greeted freshman relief pitcher Johnny Field with a walk to reload the bases for the third time in the inning.  Cidrick Navas' two-out walk scored Levy.

The Sentinels finished their scoring in the third.  Cullum led off with a double to left.  Sophomore third baseman Chase Hope's single to center scored Cullum.  While Field was batting with one out, Hope stole second.  Field's single to left scored Field.

The Blue Jays had an epic inning in the fourth, batting around twice, and scored 12 runs.  Veyan led off with a walk and moved to second on a Field wild pitch while Cidrick Navas was batting.  Following Cidrick Navas' walk, Veyan stole third and Cidrick Navas advanced to second on a runner's fielder's choice.  Suero's walk loaded the bases.  Lindley's bases-loaded walk scored Veyan and knocked Field out of the game.  Roach greeted Ziemnick with a bases-loaded walk that scored Cidrick Navas.  Hernandez' infield single that deflected off of the pitcher to second, scored Suero, and reloaded the bases for the second time in the inning.   Levy's triple to left scored Lindley and Roach.   Engesser walked with one out.  While Brandy Torres was batting, Ziemnick's error on a pick-off attempt to first, scored Levy and advanced Engesser to second.  Engesser advanced to third on a Ziemnick wild pitch later in Brandy Torres' plate appearance.  Brandy Torres walked and advanced to second on a runner's fielder's choice.  Veyan walked for the second time in the inning and loaded the bases.  Cidrick Navas' single to right scored Engesser and Brandy Torres and moved Veyan to third.  While Suero was batting, Cidrick Navas stole second.  Suero walked for the second time in the inning and loaded the bases.  Roach's two-out bases-loaded walk, his second of the inning, scored Veyan.  Hernandez' second hit of the inning, scored Cidrick Navas, reloading the bases, and knocked Ziemnick out of the game.  Levy greeted junior relief pitcher Angel Aquino with a single to left which scored Suero and reloaded the bases.  Engesser's bases-loaded walk scored Hernandez.  

Levy retired seven of the final nine batters that he faced. 

The Blue Jays offense set season highs in the following: runs (21), hits (13), singles (9), total bases (21), runs batted in (20), walks (16),   They tied season highs in plate appearances (42), triples (2), stolen bases (4).  The pitching struck out a season-high nine. They did not allow a walk for the first time as an USCAA member.

This is the first time Manor has swept a doubleheader and won consecutive games as an USCAA program.

Levy's Batting Feat: Levy became the first Blue Jay since its 2024 USCAA debut to hit for the cycle (single, double, triple, and home run).

Levy's Pitching Feat: Levy also struck out nine hitters, which is the most since Manor's 2024 USCAA debut.  He struck out the side in the first and third innings.  Levy also struck out five consecutive Sentinels between the third and fourth innings.  He surpassed Jimmy Garcia, who struck out seven Sentinels in relief in game two of a home doubleheader on April 13, 2024. Levy surpassed Cidrick Navas' (March 11 at Williamson College of the Trades, game one), Garcia's (April 29, 2024 versus Central Pennsylvania College, game two), Juan Regalado's (April 23, 2024 at Bucks County Community College, game one) five as a starter.

Batting Leaders: Lindley walked, scored twice, and knocked in a run.  Roach tripled, walked three times, scored three times, and knocked in three runs.  Hernandez singled three times, walked, stole a base, scored a run, and knocked in three.  Levy also scored three runs and knocked in six.  Engesser singled, walked three times, was hit by a pitch, stole a base, scored twice, and knocked in two.  Brandy Torres singled, walked twice, scored twice, and knocked in a run.  Veyan singled, walked twice, stole a base, and scored two runs.  Cidrick Navas singled twice, walked twice, stole a base, scored three runs, and knocked in four.  Suero walked twice, was hit by a pitch, and scored three runs.

Cullum singled twice and doubled and scored two runs.

Pitching Leaders: Levy pitched his first complete game of the season and did not allow a walk for the Blue Jays.

Slemmer (0-3) started and Field, Ziemnick, and Aquino finished the game for the Sentinels.

Next Games: The Blue Jays are scheduled to host the Central Pennsylvania College Knights (16-5, 7-1) for an ESAC home doubleheader on Monday, April 20 at Noon at Roslyn Park in Abington, Pennsylvania.  The Knights swept the Blue Jays in its previous meetings on April 14 at FNB Field on City Island in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (12-0 in five innings and 20-14).
