MANOR COLLEGE BASEBALL’S LEVY AND PEREZ VOTED TO ALL-ESAC SECOND TEAM

NEWTOWN, PA—United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Manor College Blue Jays junior shortstop-pitcher Charlie Levy (Jenkintown, PA/Jenkintown) and freshman first baseman Nate Perez (Newark, NJ/Donald M. Payne School of Technology) were voted to the All-ESAC Second Team by the Conference's Head Coaches.

In ESAC action, Levy led the Manor offense in At-Bats (37), Hits (15), Singles (11), Total Bases (20), Runs Batted In (7), and Sacrifice Flies (2).  He tied for the team lead in Games (14), Games Started (14), Plate Appearances (44), Triples (1), and Extra-Base Hits (4).  He was second on the Blue Jays in Doubles (4), Batting Average (0.405), On-Base Percentage (0.455), and Slugging Percentage (0.541).  He was tied for second on the Blue Jays in Runs (5).  Levy was among team leaders in Stolen Bases (3) and Stolen Base Attempts (5).  He was on base at least once in 11 ESAC games and had hits in 10.  Levy also had four multiple-hit conference games.

As a pitcher in conference play, he led Manor in Strikeouts (15) and Strikeouts/Nine Innings (8.10).  Levy was tied for the team lead in Games Started (4).  He was second on Manor in Innings (16 ⅔) and Complete Games (1).  Defensively, Levy led the Blue Jays in Total Chances (46) and Assists (30).  

He appeared at shortstop (9 games), starting pitcher (4), second base (1), third base (1), and designated hitter (1).

Overall, Levy led Manor in the following hitting categories: Games Played (34), Plate Appearances (107), At-Bats (96), Runs (27), Hits (46), Singles (30), Doubles (9), Triples (3), Home Runs (4), Extra-Base Hits (16), Total Bases (73), Runs Batted In (30), Stolen Bases (13), Stolen Base Attempts (15), Sacrifice Flies (2), Batting Average (0.479), On-Base Percentage (0.514), and Slugging Percentage (0.760).  Levy is the only Blue Jay to appear and start in all 34 games. 

He also led the Blue Jays in the following: Games On Base (29), Games Hit Safely (28), Multiple On-Base Games (15), Run Scoring Games (15), RBI Games (14), Multiple-Hit Games (14), On-Base and Hitting Streaks (10, April 15 [Game 2]-April 30 [Game 1], Multiple-Run Games (7), Multiple RBI games (7), and Multiple Extra-Base Hit Games (2).

Defensively, Levy led Manor in Total Chances (120) and Assists (57).

As a pitcher, he led the Blue Jay pitching staff in Strikeouts (44) and Strikeouts per Nine Innings (10.59) and was second on the team in Games Started (8), Complete Games (4), Innings Pitched (34.0), and At-Bats (150).

Overall, Levy appeared at Shortstop (27 games), Starting pitcher (8), Second Base (1), Third Base (1), and Designated Hitter (1).

He also won the USCAA Baseball Batting Average title (0.479), leading by  0.000905797102!  Levy also finished in the USCAA Top-25 in Slugging Percentage (0.760, fifth)  and Triples (three, tied for 10th).  He is one of three players in the USCAA who finished in the top-five in Batting Average and Slugging Percentage.  Levy also finished 12th in Strikeouts per Nine Innings (10.59).

Perez appeared in 12 conference games (which is also among team leaders), tying for the Manor lead in Home Runs (1) and second on the team in Extra-Base Hits (3).  He was among team leaders in Plate Appearances (44), At-Bats (28), and RBI (5).  Defensively, Perez led Manor in Putouts (28) and was tied for second in Total Chances (32).  He was on base at least once in seven ESAC games.  Perez appeared at First Base (7 Games), Designated Hitter (2), Relief Pitcher (2), Third Base (1), and Second Base (1).

Overall, Perez played 27 games.  He was second on Manor in Total Bases (29) and RBI (17).  He was among team leaders in the following: Plate Appearances (76), At Bats (68), Hits (20), Singles (14), Doubles (4), Extra-Base Hits (6), Batting Average (0.294), and Slugging Percentage (0.426). 

Defensively, Perez led in Putouts (71) and was second in Total Chances (86)

He appeared at First Base (17 games), Third Base (5), Relief Pitcher (4), Second Base (3), and Designated Hitter (3).

Levy and Perez join infielder-outfielder-pitcher Eddie Fortescue Jr and catcher-pitcher Anthony Ortiz (2024 All-ESAC Second Team), shortstop Jose Romero (2018 All-Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference), and center fielder Shawn Vega (2019 All-EPAC) to receive All-Conference Baseball honors.

Levy and Perez also play for third-year Head Coach Charles "P.J." Hackett.
