NEWTOWN, PA—Manor College (2-0 overall, 1-0 Eastern States Athletic Conference) senior forward Bryce Nwobu (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) scored 22 points and led both teams with 16 rebounds as the Blue Jays defeated the Bucks County Community College Centurions (1-3, 0-1), 113-74, in its ESAC and regular season road openers.
Manor took its first double-digit lead, 13-2, Nwobu jump shot and free throw with 17:36 left in the first half. The Blue Jays had a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game. Bucks County got as close as 22-11 on sophomore guard Morris Ivery's layup and free throw with 12:47 remaining. Manor responded with a 25-2 run (including 18-straight points between 9:58 and 6:43 left, 3:15 stretch) between 12:11 and 6:43 remaining (a 5:29 stretch) that saw its lead expand to 47-15 on a junior guard Manny Roach (Medford, NJ/Life Center Academy) three-point basket. During this run, the Blue Jays took its first 20-point lead, 36-15, on a senior guard Tyray Cooper (Baltimore, MD/Woodlawn) layup with 9:26 remaining. The Blue Jays held the Centurions without a field goal made between 10:33 and 5:33 left (a 5:00 stretch). Manor would take its first 30-point lead and first of two its largest leads of the first half, 51-20, on a sophomore center Nissir Cook (Philadelphia, PA/Philadelphia Academy Charter) layup with 4:46 remaining. The Blue Jays would take its second of its two largest first half leads, 53-22, on junior forward Deacon Linder's (Philadelphia, PA/Hardy Williams Academy [Mastery]) layup with 3:46 left. Bucks County got as close as 59-36 with 0:14.2 remaining on sophomore guard Noah Morris' layup. Manor led at halftime, 59-36. The Blue Jays' 59 first-half points are the most they scored since they scored 62 versus Patrick Henry College on November 11, 2023. The 23-point halftime lead is the most since led by 20 (44-24) versus Pennsylvania State University-Lehigh Valley on January 25, 2025. The Blue Jays also scored 59 in the second half in its regular season and home opener versus Lehigh Valley on November 6.
The Blue Jays scored the first nine second half points, went on a 13-2 run between 19:37 and 15:52 left (a 3:35 stretch), and opened up a 72-38 advantage on a Nwobu's layup. Bucks County got as close in the second half as 72-43 on a freshman Mike Roccograndi layup and free throw with 15:!7 remaining. The Blue Jays answered with a 17-5 run between 15:05 and 10:42 left and took its first of three 40-point leads, 89-48 (its largest), on a pair of Cook free throws. Cook would give Manor its second 40-point lead, 92-52, on a Cook layup with 8:59 remaining. The Blue Jays would reach the 100-point mark, 100-62, on a pair of Roach free throws with 5:49 left. Senior forward Cheikh Diagne (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast) free throws would give Manor its third of three 40-point leads, 108-68, with 3:12 remaining. Manor outscored Bucks County in the second half, 54-38. Dating back to the 2024-2025 season, this was the third consecutive game that the Blue Jays scored 50 or more points in the second half and the sixth time in the last seven games.
The Blue Jays' 46 free throw attempts are the most since they joined the USCAA during the 2021-2022 season. They attempted 43 free throws versus the NJCAA Region XIX Division III Ocean County College Vikings on December 2, 2023 in the Roadrunner Championship Game at Rowan College South Jersey-Gloucester in Sewell, New Jersey. The 67 total rebounds are the most since they joined the USCAA, surpassing 61 versus Central Pennsylvania on December 13, 2023 in Jenkintown. The 41 defensive rebounds tied the most since they joined the USCAA. They also had 41 defensive rebounds versus Williamson College of the Trades on November 30, 2021 versus the Centurions in Newtown,
Manor's 113 points scored are the most they scored in an ESAC and USCAA road game. They previously scored 110 versus Central Pennsylvania College on November 16, 2021. The 39-point margin is the largest they won in an ESAC contest. Manor won by 33 (78-45) versus Williamson College of the Trades in the Roadrunner Classic Semifinals on December 1, 2023 at Rowan College South Jersey-Gloucester in Sewell, New Jersey.
The Blue Jays 113 points are the most they scored in a road opener since joining the USCAA for the 2021-2022 season. They scored 77 points in a 77-74 win versus NCAA Division III Cairn University on November 20, 2023 in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. The 39-point margin is their largest margin of victory in a USCAA road opener. They won by 16 (74-58) versus NCAA Division III Bryn Athyn College in their USCAA debut on November 6, 2021.
Statistical Leaders: In addition to Nwobu, Cook led both benches with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Roach and Linder scored 18 points apiece. Diagne contributed 11 rebounds. Cooper came off the bench to score 10 points for the Blue Jays. Roach led both teams with eight assists.
Four Centurions scored in double-figures: Roccograndi (19 points and also had seven rebounds), Antonio Morris (18 points, seven rebounds, and led the team with four assists), Noah Morris (18 points and paced the squad with three steals), and Ivery (11 points and seven rebounds)..
