MANOR COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL LOSES FINAL GAME BEFORE HOLIDAY BREAK VERSUS BRYANT AND STRATTON COLLEGE-SYRACUSE

JENKINTOWN, PA—Bryant and Stratton College-Syracuse (2-7) junior guard Lanasia Drain led the team with 35 points as the USCAA Division I Bobcats defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (1-2), 106-59.

This is Manor's final game before the College's Holiday Break.

This is also the Blue Jays' first game versus a USCAA Division I school.

Bryant and Stratton-Syracuse never trailed in this game.  Manor got twice within one point.  Freshman guard Kyjanae Cooper's (Philadelphia, PA/Mastery Charter-Pickett Campus) layups put the Blue Jays within 3-2 and 7-6.  The Bobcats responded with an 11-1 run between 5:08 and 1:16 (a 3:52 stretch) and took its first of its largest leads of the quarter, 18-7, on sophomore guard Freey Pleasants' jump shot.  Bryant and Stratton-Syracuse also took a 21-10 lead on junior guard Angeleny Cobos' jump shot and free throw with 0:34.4 left in the first quarter.  The Bobcats led 21-13 after the first quarter.  

Manor scored seven of the first nine points of the second quarter and twice got within three points twice in the opening minutes.  Cooper's three-point basket got the Blue Jays within 21-18 and layup got them within 23-20.  The Bobcats answered with a 16-1 run between 7:56 and 1:38 (a 5:18 stretch), including 13 straight points, and expanded its lead to its largest of the quarter and the first half, 39-21, on Cobos' three-point basket.  Bryant and Stratton-Syracuse outscored Manor in the second quarter, 18-11, and led 39-24 at halftime.  Cooper led both teams with 14 points.  Cobos paced the Bobcats with 12 points.  Sophomore guard Amaya Cunningham contributed 10 points for Bryant and Stratton-Syracuse.

Bryant and Stratton-Syracuse scored eight of the first 10 points and expanded its lead to 47-27 in the third quarter on Drain's free throws.  Manor got as close as 47-34 with 4:53 left on Cooper's jump shot and free throw and 49-35 with 3:34 remaining on sophomore guard/forward Endrina Fields' (Philadelphia, PA/Agora Cyber Charter School) free throw.  The Bobcats went on a 16-3 run and took a 63-37 lead on Drain's free throws.  Bryant and Stratton-Syracuse outscored Manor in the third quarter, 26-16, and led 65-40.  Drain led both teams with 15 third quarter points, including the 13 of the Bobcats' final 15 points.  Cooper led both teams with 27 points after three quarters.  Drain paced the Bobcats with 23 points.  Cunningham scored 14 points after three.  Pleasants added 15 points and Cobos scored 12 points for Bryant and Stratton-Syracuse after three quarters.

The Bobcats outscored the Blue Jays in the fourth quarter, 41-16.  Cobos led both teams with 17 points.  Drain added 12 points and Cunningham contributed 10 points.  Cooper led the Blue Jays with 12 points.  Syracuse outscored Manor in the second half 67-35.  Drain led both teams with 27 second-half points.  Cobos added 17 points and Cunningham contributed 12 points in the second half.  Cooper led the Blue Jays with 25 second-half points.  Manor's 59 points scored are the most since their first USCAA season in 2022-2023.  The Blue Jays surpassed the 57 points scored versus the Patrick Henry College Sentinels in its previous game on November 22.

Statistical Leaders: Cooper led Manor with 39 points and 12 rebounds.  Freshman guard Rashana Brown (Philadelphia, PA/Mastery Charter-Pickett Campus) scored 14 points and paced the Blue Jays with three assists and three steals. Freshman forward Semaja Brown (Philadelphia, PA/Olney) led Manor with two blocked shots. 

In addition to Drain, who also contributed 16 rebounds, Cobos added a "double-double" with 29 points and 11 rebounds.  Cunningham scored 22 points.  Pleasants contributed a "triple-double" with 19 points and led both teams with 18 rebounds and 13 assists.  She also led the Bobcats with five steals.

Cooper's Scoring Feats:  Cooper became the first Blue Jay to score 20 or more points in three consecutive games since Manor joined the USCAA.  She was the first since Emazhane Livingston when Livingston did it in four straight.  Livingston scored 24 points at NJCAA Region XIX Division II Raritan Valley Community College on February 2, 2019; 32 points versus NJCAA Region XIX Division II Bucks County Community College; 26 points at Region XIX Division II Cecil College on January 28, 2019; and 21 points versus NJCAA Region XIX Division II Mercer County Community College  on January 26, 2019.  Altogether, Livingston scored 20 or more points six times during the 2018-2019 season when Manor was a NJCAA Region XIX Division II member.

Cooper's "Double-Double" Feats: Cooper also became the first Blue Jays to contribute three consecutive "double-doubles" (points and rebounds) since Emazhane Livingston on February 14, 2019 at NJCAA Division III Camden County College (27 points and 16 rebounds) on February 16, 2019 versus NJCAA Region XIX Division II Lackawanna College (10 points and 13 rebounds) and Rowan College at Burlington County (13 points and 13 rebounds) on February 18, 2019.  Altogether, Livingston had nine straight "double-doubles" between January 22 and February 18, 2019 and 13 for the season (out of 19 games).

Next Game: The Blue Jays' first scheduled game after the College's Winter Break is a road game versus the NCAA Division III Pennsylvania State University-Abington Nittany Lions (7-4 as of December 13) on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 7 p.m at the Athletic Building in Abington, Pennsylvania.  Manor's first game versus a NCAA opponent. The Blue Jays previously visited Abington during the 2004-2005 (70-28 and 59-44 wins, home and away, respectively) when both schools were Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC) members.

Next Home Game: Manor hosts the USCAA Division II and Eastern States Athletic Conference foe Central Pennsylvania College Knights on Saturday, February 21, 2026 on Senior Day at the Gymnasium in Jenkintown.   The Blue Jays previously hosted the Knights on December 9, 2024.  Manor is 0-2 overall (both games at home) versus Central Pennsylvania.
